Orangeman

24 - inch height         4½ - inch flower

A superb versatile heirloom.

From George Yeld in Yorkshire, England, who Registered it in 1902 as follows:

" 24-30 in. height. Extra Early, Rebloom. Extended bloom: open 16 hours
or more. Dormant, Diploid, YOM1:. Yellow-orange medium self. "

Bright stars of clear rich orange. Narrow petals of typical spider form, assigned
a "Spider Ratio of 4.00:1" by the American Hemerocallis Society. An
important garden plant, sometimes among our Top Ten, though
not yet universally known. Stunning en masse.

Despite Yeld's initial description citing "rebloom" 110 years ago,
our records in Connecticut dating back to 1973 include
no observation of rebloom. (About descriptions).

Blooms heavily in shade.
