Introduction CRAFT is the Collaborative Regional Alliance for Farmer Training in Western Connecticut. The Alliance promotes training of farm workers and apprentices in the craft of small scale agriculture and horticulture with emphasis on food production. Workers, interns and apprentices from all of the member farms meet every three weeks for a workshop or discussion group at one of the member farms. The farm owner or manager conducts this two-hour meeting. A potluck supper follows. Farm Internships and Farm Apprenticeships are arranged individually between the prospective intern or apprentice and the farm owner of his/her choice. The participating farms are located in the western half of Connecticut in Litchfield County, Fairfield County and Hartford County. Most are managed organically, and several have all, or most, of their produce designated "Certified Organic". The following farms are currently participating: Bloomingfields Farm in Sherman Chubby Bunny Farm in Falls Village Fort Hill Farm in New Milford Holcomb Farm CSA in Granby Local Farm in Cornwall Maple Bank Farm in Roxbury Marble Valley Farm in Kent River Bank Farm in Roxbury Stone Wall Dairy Farm in Cornwall Warrups Farm in West Redding |
