Find the farm
at 51 John Reed Road

>>     From Southbury, take Route 84 East Exit 10 in Newtown. Go up Route 6 to the flagpole and left on Route 25 to 302 (about 1/3 mile on right). Turn right on 302 proceed to Route 58 in Bethel. Go left on Route 58 south for 5 miles to Route 107 at Putnam Park. Bearing right, follow Route 107 south. John Read Road is about a mile from Putnam Park, on the left.

>>     From Northern Rt. 7, go to Brookfield. Left onto the Rt 84 extension, and travel a couple miles. Merge onto I-84 East via the exit on the LEFT toward WATERBURY. Immediately and carefully (because there is fast traffic coming from the right around a corner), cross over to the far right lane and put on your turn signal. Take the US-6 E / NEWTOWN RD exit- EXIT 8- toward BETHEL. Cross over the one-way road and turn left at the light. Around a 1/4 mile up, just beyond a bank, take a right, onto Payne Road. Stay on PAYNE RD. for about 1.3 miles (here it becomes a string of local roads) PAYNE RD becomes SHELTER ROCK RD. (0.3 miles) SHELTER ROCK RD becomes WALNUT HILL RD.0.5 miles Turn RIGHT onto PLUMTREES RD, over the narrow bridge. After the School complex take your next left (sort of a fork), opposite the Bethel Police Station. Follow MAPLE AVE EXT for 1/4 mile. Turn LEFT onto JUDD AVE., a steep road and travel to end where there is an intersection with a light (about a 1/2 mile) Go straight through intersection. Judd becomes Rt. 58. Travel Route 58 south for 5 miles to Route 107 at Putnam Park. Unfortunately there is heavy road work from here to the farm, so expect delay (underground transmission cable). At Putnam Park (site of the covered statue), turn right onto Route 107 south. Follow Rt. 107 for about a mile, past the stop sign and look for Dahlia Rd . on your left. John Read Road is about a mile from Putnam Park, on the left, opposite the Redding Country Club. It is a dirt road. Follow the dirt road for about 1/4 mile. The field entrance is the left just before the big white house. Park at the farmstand.
