A bright orange, strongly eyed heirloom.

From Arlow Stout at the New York Botanical Garden, who Registered it in 1941 as follows:

" 30 in. height. Early Midseason. Dormant. Yellow orange; medium petals; eyezone. "

For us, the flower scapes are significantly taller (About descriptions). Orange with a bold maroon eye. A dramatic presence here through most of June. Little known, but deserving of more attention in the garden and landscape.
